What is Physics

Physics is a fundamental science concerned with all fundamental principles in the universe, which means that Physics does care about every natural phenomenon that we experience in every-day life. So other sciences are based upon Physics, such as chemistry, biology, and geology ..Etc. in Physics there are small number of concepts that help us understand the real world.

The study of physics can be divided into six main branches:

1- Classical mechanics: (See Wikipedia

deals with the study of motion of normal objects that are big relative to atoms and move at a speed much slower than speed of light.

2- Relativity: ( See Wikipedia)

the real view of the world that can deal with any speed even speed of light.

3- Thermodynamics: (See Wikipedia)

deals with heat, temperature, work and systems that consist of large numbers of particles.

4- Electromagnetism: (See Wikipedia)

deals with electricity, magnetism, and electromagnetic field.

5- Optics: (See Wikipedia)
deals with light and its interaction with material.

6- Quantum mechanics: (See Wikipedia)

the new branch of physics that tries to explain the behavior of matter at submicroscopic levels.

In physics, we deal with two fundamental concepts:

1- Classical physics:

which was developed before 1900, and sometimes called Newtonian mechanics or simply "mechanics". you should begin studying classical mechanics first because it's very important to
understand the normal and natural phenomenon such as acceleration, forces and electromagnetism.

2- Modern physics,

is developed after 1900, includes quantum and relativity. we will learn it later after finishing classical physics.
